Young Star Sports society was established in 1987. In its initial stages it was aimed to provide sports facilities to its members in Drosh Tehsil. As time passed the founders realized the importance of social work in Drosh and decided to change the name of the Young Star Sports into Young sports & welfare society (YSS&WS) Drosh. In the year 2004 Young Star Citizen Community Board (YSCCB) was set up. The main objective of the YSCCB was to serve the humanity through Young Star Citizen Community Board with the help of local govt.
In the year 2008 Young Star Development Organization was founded. The rapid advancement in the development of Young Star Development Organization (YSDO) is due to the hard work and dedication of volunteers/ members and especially Mr. Asfandiyar Khan. No one can deny the facts that they have left no stone unturned in bringing Young Star Development Organization to present stage.
So for local civil society organization (CSO) is concerned it has been set up independently. Now it has started to register CBOs, NGOs, WOs, and VOs. So far 80 such organizations have been registered with YSDO. Development works are carried out by the Young Star Development Organization (YSDO) through these small organizations. YSDO has created awareness about HIV/Aids and narcotics through sports events. After that, the member realized the fact of social work and started giving blood to the poor and needy people. So for more than 10000-pound blood has been donated to the needy people by the volunteers of the Young Star Development Organization. Provision of free medicines, burying of heirless dead bodies, polio day with the staff of THQ hospital, provide free tuition facilities to the poor students, Walk against social evils, making of water channels through different institutions, provision of water through wells, link bridges, arranged workshops and trainings for the protection of forests, sent goods/ daily life use for the rehabilitation of the earthquake affectees in 2005 to shangla, Young Star Development Organization (YSDO)also started loaning system for the poor people without any interest. Young Star Development Organization (YSDO) also gives scholarships to the poor & needy students who cannot pay their monthly fees
